We have two struggling Big 10 teams as Iowa (14-10 SU, 9-15 ATS, 6-7 B10) travels to College Park to take on Maryland (13-11 SU, 9-15 ATS, 5-8 B10) on Wednesday night at 8:30pmET from Xfinity Center.

These teams met on Jan. 24 with Maryland winning on the road 69-67 as a 5-point underdog. Jahmir Young led the Terps with 22 points and four assists, while Tony Perkins added 20 points and three steals.

Iowa is listed as the 66th team in the latest NCAA Net Rankings and they are 56th overall on KenPom. They are not on the bubble at this point after beating Minnesota on Feb. 11 90-85 at home as a 7-point favorite. They have yet to string together consecutive wins since Jan. 6-15 when they won three straight games. In their win over Minnesota on Sunday, the Hawkeyes were down by 13 at the half (51-38) and 20 points early in the second half. Iowa went on a 20-8 run to pull within eight points with 9:53 left and took the lead with 4:34 left 78-77. Payton Sandfort and Patrick McCaffery led the Hawkeyes with 21 points apiece, while Perkins added 18 points. Iowa shot 48% from the field, but the Gophers were in this game because they shot 46% (12-of-26) from beyond the arc.

Perkins, a 6-4 senior guard, leads Iowa with 15.6 points per game and 4.3 assists. Sandfort, a 6-7, 215-pound junior adds 15 points and 6.6 rebounds while shooting 38.2% from beyond the arc. Iowa is ranked 11th in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency, but just 163rd in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency. In basic stats, they allow 78 points per game (327th) on 45.1% shooting (35% 3pt). They struggle on the boards where they rank 238th in rebound margin at -0.7. On offense, they are averaging 84.2 points per game (15th) on 48% shooting (30th) and 34.1% from long range (175th).
