Indiana vs. Rutgers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-22-2022

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-3) will host the Indiana Hoosiers (3-4) on Saturday in a Big Ten East Division matchup. Last season Rutgers beat Indiana 38-3 as a 6.5-point road underdog.

Indiana started the season 3-0. The Hoosiers opened up the season with a 23-20 conference win over Illinois as a one-point favorite. In their two non-conference wins, they failed to cover beating Idaho 35-22 as a 24.5-point favorite and against Western Kentucky 33-30. The Hoosiers have since lost four straight games which started by falling to Cincinnati 45-24. In their last three Big Ten games, Indiana has lost to Nebraska 35-21, Michigan 31-10, and 38-33 against Maryland.

Indiana is 11th in the Big Ten averaging 25.6 ppg and 11th picking up 356.1 yards of total offense per game. The Hoosiers offense is led by Missouri transfer Connor Bazelak who has completed 54.6% of his passes for 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Bazelak ranks 19th in the country with 1,889 passing yards and 90th with a 48.3 QBR.

The defense has struggled, ranking dead-last in the conference with 31.6 ppg allowed and 13th giving up 430.4 yards per game.
