After the NCAA Tournament's selection committee snubbed them, the top-seeded Indiana State Sycamores (32-6) and Seton Hall Pirates (24-12) have run through the NIT with relative ease. The two programs now meet Thursday night in the NIT championship game at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN) from Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.
The Sycamores are a 3-point favorite (-110) across our best sports betting sites in a game that's loaded with offensive talent. Expect a high-scoring affair, with Robbie Avila and Al-Amir Dawes leading the charge.

Few players have been as important to their team's success in 2023-24 than Avila has been to the Sycamores. A viral sensation for his goggles, Avila is the key reason Indiana State ranks 12th in adjusted offensive efficiency, according to KenPom. He leads the team in points per game (17.5) and is second in both rebounds (6.6) and assists (4.0).
Avila has been on another level during the NIT while averaging 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. Those numbers jump to 24.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists over the last two games. While Seton Hall boasts a solid defense, Avila's 3-point shooting (53.8% over the last two games) is an X-factor.
The -102 odds at FanDuel are longer than we expected, too, and would result in an $9.80 profit on a $10 wager if Avila hits the Over.

The Pirates are known more for their defense than the team's offense, but they've been lighting up the scoreboard during the NIT. Outside of a first-round OT win over Saint Joseph's, Seton Hall has been dominating its postseason opponents. The team has won its last three games by an average of 18 points.
And the play of guard Al-Amir Dawes has been the most significant difference for Seton Hall lately. Dawes is the Pirates' best 3-point shooter, leading the team with 2.4 makes per game on 38.4% shooting from deep.
He's been even better in the NIT, with at least four made 3-pointers in three of four games. During the tournament he's also averaging four made 3-pointers per game and hitting 44.4% from deep.
That will come in handy against an Indiana State defense allowing opponents to shoot 34.4% from 3-point range. The -110 odds at FanDuel imply a 52.38% probability Dawes hits the Over, according to our odds calculator.

While Dawes has owned the hot hand during the NIT, Kadary Richmond has been the top dog for the Pirates' offense. He's the go-to playmaker for head coach Shaheen Holloway and leads Seton Hall in both points (15.6) and assists per game (5.1) while averaging 23.5 combined points and assists over his last two outings.
Richmond is poised to take advantage of an Indiana St ate defense that's 115th in adjusted efficiency and allowing opponents plenty of opportunities due to its pace. The Sycamores get the 55th-most field-goal attempts against their defense in the country and allow 73 points per game. Their defense also allows the eighth most assists per game in college basketball (10.8).
