The College Basketball Invitational kicked off on Saturday, and it won't stop until a winner is crowned on Wednesday. Beginning the quarterfinals, the No. 1 seed Indiana State Sycamores (23-12, 22-12-0 ATS) and Eastern Kentucky Colonels (21-13, 20-10-1 ATS) will take each other on. Tipoff is set for noon in Daytona Beach, with the entire tournament taking place in Ocean Center.
Eastern Kentucky was dead even with Cleveland State after 40 minutes on Sunday. One dunk from Tayshawn Comer changed that quickly, as the Colonels proceeded to outscore the Vikings 17-1 in the extra five minutes. The result was a 91-75 win which saw Eastern Kentucky outrebound their foes 50-29, while easily beating the spread.

The Colonels are ranked 168th per KenPom and 2-1 in postseason play between the CBI and ASUN Tournament. Defense was the team's strength, with Eastern Kentucky limiting opponents to 42.1% shooting from the field. That paired with strong rebounding make them tough to score on.
On offense, they average 77.4 points per game behind a furiously fast pace. Their efficiency could use some work though, especially from the free-throw line. As a team, the Colonels only hit 65.8% of their free throws this season, one of the worst rates nationally.
