With that in mind, here's the records and stats to know before the 2023 Masters tees off.

How Many Hole-in-Ones Have There Been at the Masters?

A total of 34 aces, or hole-in-ones, have occurred at the Masters in the tournament's history. The very first Masters event in 1934 saw an ace made by Ross Sommerville on hole No. 16. The 16th hole has been a hot spot for aces, with 24 hole-in-ones being made here.

How Many Birdies Were Made at the 2021 Masters?

In 2021, Hideki Matsuyama took home the green jacket with a score of 10-under. He made 13 birdies on the way to his victory, which were part of the 944 total birdies made at that year's tournament.

How Many Albatrosses Have Happened in Masters History?

A double eagle, otherwise known as an albatross, is rare occurrence at the Masters. There have only been four in the major's history. The first albatross recorded at the Masters was by Gene Sarazen in 1935 on the 15th hole. He has since been followed by Bruce Delvin (1967, 8th hole), Jeff Maggert (1994, 13th hole) and Louis Oosthuiz en (2012, 2nd hole).

No hole at the Masters tournament has ever seen two albatrosses.
