Hornets at Wizards Prediction – NBA Picks 2/8/23

The Charlotte Hornets pay a visit to the Washington Wizards at the Capital One Arena on Wednesday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have been in poor form as they’ve love six of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to put an end to a four-game skid after falling short to the Magic in a 119-113 loss on Sunday. LaMelo Ball led the team with 33 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals, Terry Rozier added 24 points with six assists while Mason Plumlee chipped in with 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Hornets shot 54 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to take the early lead and they were able to hang in the contest until the fourth quarter where the Magic went on a pivotal 16-6 run to pull away and steal the game in the end.

Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in a funk ever since they had that game postponed as they’ve now lost three in a row after getting routed by the Cavaliers in a 114-91 loss on Monday. Kristaps Porzingis led the team in scoring with 18 points, Will Barton added 15 points off the bench while Deni Avdija chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Wizards shot 42 percent from the field and just six of 28 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start, allowing the Cavaliers to pour in 37 points in the first quarter to put them behind by double-digits and things only got worse as the game wore on. Corey Kispert had a night to forget as he finished with just two points on one of seven shooting.
