The Golden State Warriors and the New York Knicks collide at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
The Golden State Warriors have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their past seven games, but they were able to put a halt to a three-game skid with a 126-110 road win over the Raptors on Sunday. Jordan Poole led the way with 43 points and six assists on 14 of 23 shooting, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green each scored 17 points while JaMychal Green chipped in with 15 points on five of seven shooting off the bench. As a team, the Warriors shot 53 percent from the field and 18 of 39 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Raptors from the start and took a 68-54 lead going into halftime, before making another push in the third quarter to lead by as many as 24 points.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been in great form as they will be looking to build on their seven-game win streak after outlasting the Pacers in a 109-106 road win on Sunday. Jalen Brunson led the team with 30 points on 11 of 22 shooting, Julius Randle added 25 points with 14 rebounds and three assists while RJ Barrett chipped in with 24 points. As a team, the Knicks shot 47 percent from the field and eight of 26 from the 3-point line, but this win was all about their defense as they were actually trailing late in the fourth quarter until they clamped down defensively and closed the final 3:40 on a 16-7 run to escape with the narrow victory.
