The Arizona Coyotes dropped their opening contest following the All-Star break, losing to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, 3-2. Arizona has now dropped four straight games, heading to the road for the next two contests starting in Nashville. The Coyotes have lost their last five road games and are 8-13-3 on the road this year.

The Coyotes gave up three first-period goals and were not able to recover. Jason Zucker had a goal in the first and Clayton Keller had a third-period tally, his 21st of the season. Keller easily leads the team in scoring with 46 points. Arizona is 24th in goals per game (2.92) and 14th on the power- play (22.2%).

Connor Ingram (17-12-1, 2.69, .914) gave up three goals on the first six shots he faced before his evening was over. Karel Vejmelka (6-11-2, 3.33, .900) stopped 28 shots in relief. It will likely be Ingram in net, who has allowed 12 goals on his last 82 shots. The Coyotes are 15th in goals-against average (3.06).
