Florida vs. Vanderbilt Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-19-2022

It's a battle on the gridiron in the SEC as the Vanderbilt Commodores host the Florida Gators. The Commodores are 4-6 overall and 1-5 in the SEC while the Gators are 6-4 overall and sport a 3-4 record in the SEC. Florida has won 8 straight versus Vanderbilt including a 42-0 shellacking last season. The Gators are 14.5 point favorites playing on the road at Vandy.

After back to back losses to No. 7 LSU and No. 1 Georgia, the Gators were able to right the ship, scoring wins in two straight weeks. Two weeks ago they went on the road and trounced Texas A&M 41-24 as an underdog and last Saturday they blew out South Carolina 38-6 at home as an 8 point favorite. So they are playing good football down the stretch and at 6-4 overall, a strong finish will have them in a decent Bowl game. In the win over South Carolina, the Gators jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back.

This was a beatdown of the first order as they outgained the Gamecocks 515 to 237 and rolled up a ridiculous 374 yards rushing. Montrell Johnson rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on 6.1 yards per carry while Trevor Etienne rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Anthony Richardson just missed having a 100 yards with 96 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown, but he also threw for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns. Florida is the 11th best running team in the nation, averaging 225 yards on the ground per game. They average 31.9 points per game, which ranks 42nd in the nation, and they give up 26.9 points per game, which ranks 74th.
