The Florida Panthers face the Pittsburgh Penguins with both teams heading in opposite directions this season. The Panthers have a 33-15-4 record and with two wins in a row, they have the second-best record in the Atlantic Division. The Penguins have a 23-19-7 record and with only three wins in their last 10 games, they have fallen to the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to improve in the playoff picture and the upcoming game looks to be a great one.

The Panthers are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.19 goals per game. Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart, and Carter Verhaeghe have scored 82 goals and 91 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Aleksander Barkov, Sam Bennett, and Evan Rodrigues have combined for 31 goals and 73 assists while defensemen Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Gustav Forsling have added 16 goals and 31 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Panthers, allowing only 2.50 goals per game with only two goals in the last two games. Gustav Forsling and Niko Mikkola have combined for 8.2 defensive point shares and 159 blocked shots while Aaron Ekblad, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Dmitry Kulikov have combined for 7.4 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has stepped up with a .913 save percentage and a 2.43 goals-against average on 1038 shots with 9.5 goals saved above average.
