Fiesta Bowl Preview: Liberty vs. Oregon
When it came to the Group of Five representative for the New Year’s Six bowl games, it was “Give me Liberty or give me the team that once had the death penalty”. In the end, the Flames got the call over SMU and their prize for an undefeated season and a Conference USA championship is to be a 17-point underdog against the Oregon Ducks in the Fiesta Bowl.
There are some noteworthy opt-outs for the Ducks, but they haven’t really been enough to move the line, as the consensus thought seems to be that the Flames are tremendously outgunned and outclassed, even if backups are taking the field. But, the spread is the great equalizer and Liberty will be ahead three scores before kickoff from an ATS standpoint.
