Edmonton Oilers vs. N.Y. Islanders  Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-23-2022

The Edmonton Oilers face the New York Islanders with both teams off to great starts to the season. The Oilers have a 10-9 record while the Islanders have a 12-8 record and which is third-best in the Metropolitan Division. The Oilers are looking to improve in the Pacific Division while the Islanders look to remain near the top of the Metropolitan Division and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Oilers are having a promising season behind an offense that is scoring 3.47 goals per game. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have scored 27 goals and 39 assists as two of the best scorers in the league but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Zach Hyman, and Ryan McLeod have combined for 21 goals and 24 assists while defensemen Tyson Barrie and Darnell Nurse have combined for six goals and 17 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.63 goals per game. Cody Ceci and Darnell Nurse have combined for 2.2 defensive point shares and 68 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. Moreover, goaltender Jack Campbell is having an awful season in the net with a .873 save percentage and a 4.27 goals-against average on 307 sho ts.
