The Cleveland Guardians (16-19) will host the Detroit Tigers (16-18) Tuesday in the second game of a three-game series. Detroit won the first game 6-2 on Monday. Detroit is now 3-1 against Cleveland this season.
The Tigers have won six of their last seven games after Monday's 6-2 victory against the Guardians. Riley Greene led the Tigers with two RBI in the win, with Javier Baez, Zach McKinstry, Nick Maton, and Andy Ibanez all driving in a run as well. Ibanez also scored three runs and hit his first home run of the season. Detroit is now second in the AL Central trailing the Twins by 2.5 games.

On the season, Detroit is 28th, averaging 3.75 runs per game, but better at home, where they are 19th, putting up 4.3 runs per game. Tuesday, the Tigers will send out 31-year-old right-hander Michael Lorenzen (1-1, 5.14 ERA). Lorenzen broke in the big leagues with the Reds in 2015 and is 32-30 with a 4.14 ERA in 354 career appearances and 48 starts. The Detroit bullpen is 20th with a 4.10 ERA. The biggest strength for Detroit has been in the field, where defensively, they are the third-best team with +20 runs saved.
