Veteran quarterback Derek Carr was released by the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday and gets a head start on free agency. DraftKings Sportsbook has NFL odds available for which team the three-time Pro Bowler will join this offseason. Here are our best NFL picks for where Carr will play next.

Derek Carr is officially a free agent. After nine years with the Las Vegas Raiders franchise, the veteran quarterback was released on Friday after the team failed to land a trade.

Now, Carr is free to sign with any team, and the odds on where he will land next have moved.

Here's a look at our top Derek Carr next team bets (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star rating).

Derek Carr Next Team Picks

Fans in the Big Easy have fond memories of a veteran quarterback from the Golden State coming in and turning the franchise around immediately. In fact, New Orleans has missed the playoffs in consecutive years since long-time starter Drew Brees retired following the 2020 campaign.

There are ample offensive playmakers on the Saints, and the defense was dominant down the stretch. Additionally, the NFC South was arguably the worst division in the NFL this past year. Tom Brady has retired, leaving a void at quarterback on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Saints would have a legitimate shot at a playoff berth next year with Carr running the offense, and the organization will be looking to upgrade the position during the offseason.

After all, if 2022 proved anythi ng in New Orleans, it's that Jameis Winston isn't the answer at quarterback for head coach Dennis Allen.

The Zach Wilson experiment is blowing up in the faces of the New York brass, and despite boasting one of the league's top defenses, Gang Green lost six consecutive games to conclude the season.

Add talent and depth at the skill positions, and the Jets run out a playoff-caliber roster – except for where it matters most.

With New York selecting 13th in the 2023 NFL Draft, they're probably too far down the pecking order to land a Week 1 starting quarterback. I also doubt they dare invest the draft capital of another first-round pick on the position.

As a result, I expect the Jets to address their quarterback chaos by bringing in a veteran signal caller during the offseason, and Carr fits the bill.

Something isn't quite adding up with the Ravens right now. Quarterback Lamar Jackson doesn't have a contract for the 2023 season, and I think he might have already played his last game for the organization.

Jackson isn't the only cog in the Baltimore machine, though. The defense and offensive line rank among the league's best, and head coach John Harbaugh annually maximizes the talent on his roster.

If the Ravens also brought in – or drafted – another reliable wide receiver, this would be a cushy setup for Carr to settle into.

It'd definitely be a surprise if Carr ended up with the Ravens, but that's built into the odds. Plus, after the quarterback carousel last offseason, bringing in a new starting quarterback might just prove to be a fashionable trend.
