The Dallas Stars face the Colorado Avalanche with both teams off to great starts to the season. The Stars have a 12-5-3 record which is the best in the Central Division while the Avalanche have an 11-6-1 record and have won seven of their last 10 games. Both teams are looking to remain near the top of the Central Division and the Western Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a great one as a result.

The Stars are having a great season led by an offense that is scoring 3.95 goals per game. Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz have scored 24 goals and 31 assists to lead the top line but the entire offense has been great. Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, and Tyler Seguin have combined for 22 goals and 38 assists while defensemen Miro Heiskanen and Esa Lindell have added four goals and 16 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.75 goals per game. Esa Lindell and Colin Miller have combined for 2.9 defensive point shares and 47 blocked shots while Jani Hakanpaa and Miro Heiskanen have combined for 2.1 defensive point shares to give the Stars two great defensive pairings. With the Stars playing the second game of a back-to-back, the hope is that goaltender Scott Wedgewood can step up in the net as he has a .904 save percen tage and a 3.23 goals-against average on 239 shots.
