Dallas Stars vs. Chicago Blackhawks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-28-2023

A five-game losing skid takes the Chicago Blackhawks (8th in Central Division) to a domestic matchup against the Dallas Stars (3rd in Central), who have dropped four of their past six decisions.

A three-game point streak (2-0-1) came to an end for the Dallas Stars (39-20-14), who were dealt their fourth loss in the past six outings (2-3-1) following a 3-1 defeat to the Vancouver Canucks at American Airlines Center on Saturday. Ryan Suter (3 goals, 22 points this year) opened the scoring midway through the first period before the visitors equalized with a shorty just before the first intermission, adding two more snipes in a span of one-and-a-half minute in the following frame. With that, the Stars dropped to the 3rd place of the Central Division, tied on 92 points with the 2nd-placed Colorado Avalanche, one point behind the new division leaders Minnesota Wild.

Rookie goalie Matt Murray stopped 21 shots on Saturday to take his current performance status to 1-2-0 for the season with a 3.39 GAA and a .844 save percentage. Jak e Oettinger (31-10-11 on the year with a 2.50 GAA and a .918 save percentage), though, is expected back in Dallas’ crease for Tuesday, having posted a 5-2-2 career record against the Chicago Blackhawks with a 2.75 GAA and a .905 save percentage. The Stars, meanwhile, are 9th in most goals scored per game this season (3.40), 8th in least goals allowed on average (2.75), 8th in power play (23.2%) and 3rd best in penalty kill (83.5%).
