The Dallas Mavericks (9-8, 4-12-1 ATS) received 42 points from Luka Doncic, but it was not enough in the 125-112 loss to the Boston Celtics. The loss dropped Dallas to 1-5 on the road. The Mavericks had a big night shooting, hitting 53.7% of their shots but Boston hit 17 of 34 three-pointers to pull out the victory.

“Luka kind of got it going a little bit, and then the team got it going a little bit,” Celtics Jaylen Brown said of the performance by Doncic. “It’s just weathering the storm.”

Doncic was 17-28, adding nine assists and eight rebounds. Christian Wood came off the bench to record 26 points and added 12 boards. The Mavericks are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, second in points allowed per game (106.5), but are only averaging 109.2 points per contest. They are last in rebounding (38.7 per game).
