Curtis Samuel: Salary, Cap Hit, Potential Extension

The Carolina Panthers drafted Curtis Samuel in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The wide receiver from Ohio State played for four seasons in Carolina before joining the Washington Commanders as a free agent.

Curtis Samuel Salary

Samuel signed a three-year deal worth $34.5 million in March of 2021. He was reunited with college teammate Terry McLaurin, and the duo hoped to give Washington a one-two punch at wideout. Now in the final year of his deal, Samuel has a 2023 salary of $10,100,000.

Curtis Samuel Cap Hit

The cap hit for Samuel’s contract for 2023 is $13 million. Samuel is the the 24th highest-paid wide receiver in the league for 2023.

Curtis Samuel Potential Extension

Samuel was disappointing in 2021 and 2022. Some of that could be attributed to poor quarterback play, but it’s a bottom-line league, and Samuel was not producing.
