The higher seeds advanced in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament and No. 2 seed Xavier will meet the third seeded Creighton Bluejays on Friday might. Xavier squeaked past DePaul while Creighton handled Villanova on Thursday night. These two teams split two games in the regular season. Tipoff is at 9:00 p.m. EST at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The Creighton Bluejays took on the surging Villanova Wildcats Thursday night in the quarterfinal round of the Big East tournament. Many targeted this game as a possible Villanova upset, including me, as they have been playing well as of late, but Creighton took care of business, delivering an 87-74 victory.

The Bluejays were never really threatened in this game as they dominated from the start. They shot 50% from the floor and made 48% of their threes. Ryan Kalkbrenner led Creighton with 21 points while Arthur Kaluma chipped in with 18 points. Ryan Nembhard had 17 points while Baylor Scheierman had a great all around game with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists.
