The Creighton Bluejays hope to bounce back from a tough road loss in Providence on Wednesday night as they prepare to take on Xavier on the road yet again. The Bluejays fell to Providence, 91-87, in overtime despite a record-setting night from senior Baylor Scheierman. Scheierman finished the night with his ninth double-double of the season with 27 points and 11 rebounds. More importantly, he became the first men's player in Division I history to surpass 2,000 career points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists, and 300 3-point field goals. Creighton led by two at the half and stormed back late after falling behind by as many as seven points in the second half. The Bluejays ran out of steam in the overtime session after briefly leading by three points.

The Bluejays hope to end a two-game losing streak with a win on the road against Xavier. The Bluejays will likely fall out of the Top 25 after the two straight losses possibly even with a win over Xavier on the road. The Bluejays are 7th in the Big East in scoring offense this season. They are third in field goal shooting and sixth in 3-point shooting. The Bluejays are also second in the Big East in 3-point field goals per game. On the defensive end, despite allowing over 90 points to Providence on Wednesday night, the Bluejays are third in the conference in scoring defense. They are second in field goal defense and 7th in 3-point defense. Creighton is third in the Big East in total rebounds per game and they are just 10th in turnovers per game.
