Colorado Avalanche vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-15-2023

The Colorado Avalanche face the Toronto Maple Leafs in a matchup between two of the best teams in the NHL. The Avalanche have a 37-22-6 record and with back-to-back wins, have leaped into third place in the Central Division. The Maple Leafs have a 40-18-8 record and are in second place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams look to remain near the top of their conferences and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Avalanche are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.23 goals per game including 19 goals in the last four games. Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and J.T. Compher have scored 86 goals and 116 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.80 goals per game with only 11 goals in the last four games. Makar and Toews have combined for 8.9 defensive point shares and 179 blocked shots while Samuel Girard, Josh Manson, and Bowen Byram have combined for 5.7 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Alexandar Georgie v has been great with a .916 save percentage and 2.65 goals-against average on 1501 shots with 16.5 goals saved above average.
