The Colorado Avalanche face the Anaheim Ducks with both teams on opposite ends of the Western Conference. The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Avalanche, allowing only 2.73 goals per game. Toews and Makar have combined for 10.5 defensive point shares and 200 blocked shots while Samuel Girard, Bowen Byram, and Josh Manson have combined for 5.9 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Jonas Johansson has stepped up with a .907 save percentage and a 2.88 goals-against average on 43 shots.
