College Football Texas Longhorns vs Washington Huskies Sugar Bowl Same Game Parlay picks: Rome Odunze finds the end zone at +704 odds

After a long and eventful college football regular season, the College Football Playoff is finally here. This year’s installment of the Sugar Bowl features the Texas Longhorns against the Washington Huskies in the matchup between the #2 and #3 seeds. Will the H uskies undefeated season continue, or will Texas make the National Championship game for the first time in well over a decade? Here is my Texas vs Washington Same Game Parlay for Monday’s matchup, which will be televised starting at 8:45 pm ET on ESPN. Be sure to also check out our full Texas vs Washington predictions

One of the benefits of Same Game Parlays, of course, is that you can correlate the plays. That is the plan here, as Washington winning would certainly correlate with Rome Odunze finding the end zone. Let’s break down each of the legs.

Washington Huskies ML over Texas Longhorns (+152)

As I mentioned in my preview for this game, it's hard for me not to give the benefit of the doubt to Kalen DeBoer – who has an astounding 103-11 record as a head coach – and this Huskies staff in this matchup. Washington's main avenue to success comes in the form of Michael Penix Jr. and an elite receiving corps picking on a Texas back seven that already had issues against the pass this season and will be banged-up in this game. What the Longhorns do have is the best defensive front in the country in my eyes, and Texas' elite run defense metrics prove it. Therefore, I can't see Washington even trying to run the ball on early downs here. Instead, Penix will truly get to air the ball out downfield with a fully healthy receiving corps filled with NFL wideouts on a fast track in what should be a perfect environment for the Huskies.

I have few doubts that this game should be a back-and-forth affair where both sides deliver blows until the final whistle. While these are two different teams from a season ago, there is a bit of precedent for DeBoer getting the best of Steve Sarkisian, as the Huskies knocked off the Longhorns in last season's Alamo Bowl, and did so through the air. As much as I’ve liked this Longhorns team all season long, I simply can't get there with Texas as a favorite of over a field goal. Let's back Washington on the money line in a game that I see coming down to the final possession.
