Chicago Blackhawks vs. Nashville Predators Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-16-2023

The Chicago Blackhawks face the Nashville Predators with both teams looking to improve on difficult seasons. The Blackhawks have a 23-38-6 record and are near the bottom of the Western Conference but are coming off a big 6-3 win against the Bruins. The Predators have a 34-24-7 record and are near the bottom of the Central Division but have won three games in a row to leap back into wild card contention in the Western Conference. Both teams look to improve in the Central Division and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Blackhawks are having a season to forget with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.52 goals per game. Taylor Raddysh, Andreas Athanasiou, and Philipp Kurashev have combined for 43 goals and 41 assists but the rest of the offense has also struggled. Only three active skaters have 10 goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has been awful but the defense has let the Blackhawks down, allowing 3.54 goals per game with 14 goals in the last four games. Connor Murphy and Seth Jones have combined for 5.1 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. The one bright spot has been the play of goaltender Alex Stalock who has a .918 save percentage and a 2.80 goals-against average on 538 shots with 7.2 goals saved above average.
