Europe's main club competition returns with great matchups for soccer's faithful. The Champions League schedules great encounters on Tuesday and Wednesday. Here are our predictions and the best soccer odds.

Paris Saint-Germain vs. Bayern is the star clash of the week, but the matches between AC Milan and Tottenham on Tuesday and Dortmund vs. Chelsea the following day are not expected to let fans down either. The Champions League is the major battlefield for Europe's giants, who will look to do their best in order to dispute the trophy in the final hosted in Istanbul in June.

Here are our best soccer bets from the Champions League (odds via BetMGM and FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Top Champions League picks

It's just the first leg, it's true, but neither of the teams are in the mood to wait for the s econd part of the duel in Munich to settle this. Both teams will attack and will try to harm their opponent as much as possible.

PSG is wounded after surprise defeats to Marseille in the Cup and Monaco in Ligue 1. The stars at Parc des Princes will desperately want to show what they're worth when Bayern comes visiting. As the Champions League is the supreme objective both clubs have this year, an early exit will surely have tsunami-like effects for any of the two.

Bayern were unconvincing and inconsistent in some of the matches they played recently, but bounced back fast and scored 11 times in their last three official outings to show they are capable of wonders when they put it all together.

Milan recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Torino last weekend after a long series of terrible matches left them out of the title race in the Italian Serie A. Their form has been dismal for a long time and they won't be able to reinvent themselves in time for Tottenham's visit.

The English side's head coach Antonio Conte, a traditional Milan rival both as a player and then as a coach at the helm of Juventus and Inter, is also a big asset for Tottenham, who might profit from Milan's current problems and take a comfortable advantage back home.

Chelsea haven't been performing anywhere near their ambitions lately. The club's new owners have injected hundreds of millions into glamorous transfers and manager Graham Potter was given new credit to shape up a new winning team.

Despite not being at the top of their game, Chelsea should still be able to come out on top when they travel to Germany to play Dortmund on Wednesday. There's great individual quality in the squad and games like these can be decided by players who take risks.

Brugge made it through from a group that left behind Atletico Madrid and Leverkusen, but going beyond the Round of 16 in the Champions League would really be a major shock. That's not because they lack the pedigree, but because of a wider context.

Brugge is only fourth in the Belgian league, 20 points behind league leaders Genk. They only won once in their last nine official matches, so the match against Benfica couldn't have come at a worse moment. At +190 via BetMGM, a parlay including goals and corners looks like a decent option.
