California's season has gone completely off the rails over the last month. The Golden Bears are now just 1-4 against the Pac-12 this fall and have been held to just 16.8 points over their current four-game losing skid. Any hope of relief is out the window in a road game against USC – the same team that only sits one game out of the conference's top spot due to the Week 7 loss to Utah.
The Trojans also have an attack that I don't think the Golden Bears can handle. USC is tied with Michigan for the sixth-best offense in the nation (41.0 PPG), also averaging an impressive 45.8 PG clip at home (fourth-best). That's not exactly promising for California, having gone 0-3 on the road thus far.
Another thing that makes this USC's game to lose is the program's recent success over its Pac-12 rival. The Trojans are 17-3 straight up in their last 20 games against the Golden Bears, which includes winning 14 consecutive games from 2004 to 2017. California may have won last year's meeting, 24-14, but all that does is give USC a bigger incentive to win this weekend.
Expect Cal's woes to continue as USC picks up yet another victory.

I expect USC to win this one decisively, however, it'll be less than what the spread implies.
