The Calgary Flames face the New Jersey Devils with both teams looking to improve on rocky seasons. The Flames are having a rough season despite their offense stepping up and scoring 3.06 goals per game. Nazem Kadri, Blake Coleman, and Yegor Sharangovich have scored 56 goals and 61 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Jonathan Huberdeau, Andrew Mangiapane, and Mikael Backlund have combined for 26 goals and 55 assists while defensemen MacKenzie Weegar and Rasmus Andersson have added 19 goals and 38 assists from the point to help open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.04 goals per game. MacKenzie Weegar and Noah Hanifin have combined for 6.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Jacob Markstrom who has a .913 save percentage and a 2.55 goals-against average on 875 shots with 8.1 goals saved above average.
