CSU Northridge downed UC Santa Barbara 82-74 on the road Saturday night, winning outright as a 5.5-point favorite in their previous contest. CSU Bakersfield earned a 73-71 home win over CSU Fullerton Saturday night, pushing the line as a two-point favorite. In the all-time series between the teams, the Roadrunners own a 9-7 advantage and have won the last two meetings, including a 64-56 road win in the first meeting this season January 25.

CSU Northridge ran their win streak to three games as they took down UC Santa Barbara on the road Saturday night in their previous contest. The Matadors improved to 16-9 overall and stand fifth in the Big West with a 7-6 mark this season. Against UC Santa Barbara, CSU Northridge trailed 2-0 early before scoring the next six points: they never trailed again en route to the win. The Matadors were up 39-31 at the half and didn’t let the Gauchos closer than three the rest of the way, with that coming in the final minute of play. CSU Northridge shot 54.4% from the field, including six of 15 from three-point range, and won the rebounding battle by a 35-26 margin. De’Sean Allen-Eikens led the Matadors with 20 points in the win.

The Matadors enter this contest 106th in the nation in scoring offense with an average of 76.6 points per game. CSU Northridge pulls down an average of 41.2 rebounds per game (8th) this season while they stand 140th in the nation by dishing out 13.8 assists per contest. The Matadors are 218th in the nation in scoring defense as they allow 72.8 points per contest. De’Sean Allen-Eikens leads the team with 18.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season.
