Butler at Creighton – 12/22/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Butler Bulldogs will head to Omaha and face the Creighton Bluejays in Big East action this Thursday on FS1. Creighton and Butler have split each of their past ten meetings, with the Bluejays holding a 15-11 series lead.

Butler dropped to 8-4 after losing to Connecticut in Indianapolis. The Bulldogs gave the top-five ranked Huskies a fight in the first half, but UConn would pour it on and pull away for the 22-point win. Butler is scoring 72.6 points per game, while allowing 63.7 ppg, and shooting 48.6% from the floor.

Butler looks a lot better this season under Thad Matta, and they lean heavily on their starting five. Chuck Harris got it going versus Tennessee Tech, scoring a season-high 32 points and he now leads Butler in scoring (14.3). Sophomore guard Jayden Taylor has reached double figures in eight of the last ten games, including a 20-point outing in the win over BYU, and he’s up to 13.8 ppg. Manny Bates has made his presence felt after coming over from N.C. State in the front court. The 6’11 center double-doubled in the win over KState, and he’s leading the Bulldogs in rebounding (6.7), while scoring 14.1 ppg.
