Burdge: For Once I Agree With A-Rod
A-Rod isn't betting against the Red Sox and neither am I

Look, I like post-playing- career Alex Rodriguez much more than I liked MLB player Alex Rodriguez. He's kind of funny sometimes and not as hate-able, but I still don't take a ton of what he says seriously.'
However, he said something on Tuesday that I do wholeheartedly agree with.'
During a conference call promoting the new KayRod Cast on ESPN, A-Rod talked glowingly about the Red Sox and their outlook this year.'
“I think they are the gold standard because to win four championships, they build a lot of equity in that city and in that town,” Rodriguez said, as reported by Jake Iggy on Twitter. “I think I would not bet against the Red Sox.”
He wouldn't bet it against the Red Sox. Well, it just so happens I find myself agreeing with A-Rod.'
Becaus e I am literally not betting against the Red Sox.'
In fact, with two days left until Opening Day on March 30, I have already placed some futures bets on this Red Sox team.'
I have this team winning 80+ regular season games this year at FanDuel at +105. My prediction is they win 87 games this year.'
And, like the 87-win Phillies last year, I think the Red Sox will make the playoffs and I got that at Yes +275 at DraftKings.'
I also will say I placed $1 on the Red Sox to win the World Series at +6000 at FanDuel. So I'm clearly all in on that too.'
The vibes around the Red Sox right now are exceptional. From the moment I saw the mic'd up sound of Rafael Devers and the energy and chemistry this team has, my optimism has bee n through the roof for how this season will go. And good for A-Rod for realizing this too.
