In his first NFL start, Bryce Young was 20-for-38 for just 146 yards. He threw one touchdown against two interceptions. However, despite those underwhelming numbers, Young kept his team in a divisional road game until the fourth quarter.

In Week 2, Young faces a Saints defense that intercepted Ryan Tannehill three times in Week 1. We've looked at the matchup with our Saints vs. Panthers predictions, but what should we expect from the rookie as he takes the field for his second NFL start?

We thought this price was going to be much more expensive. Even if this was listed at -155, we'd still recommend you take the Over.

Tannehill is a turnover-prone quarterback, but that doesn't take away from what the Saints' defense did against him. It held him to just 198 yards while picking him off three times.

Young had his moments in Week 1, but overall, he looked like an overwhelmed rookie. Even if he makes great strides from his first start to his second, he's going against a very good defense. He's bound to make a few mistakes, and it would be shocking to see him exit this game without at least one interception.

Young averaged just 7.3 yards per completion in his first start. His longest passes of the day were for 14 yards, one to Hayden Hurst and the other to Laviska Shenault. Only Terrance Marshall averaged more than 10 yards per reception.

Young takes what the defense gives him, but he doesn't look comfortable throwing the ball downfield yet. We should expect short attempts that result in completions for little yardage.

After Carr's 305-yard performance in Week 1, this may seem like a crazy play. However, the Saints wanted to run the ball in their opener but couldn't find success against a very good Titans run defense. The Panthers allowed 130 rushing yards in their opener, though, so the Saints should have more success on the ground in Week 2.

Despite being the home team, we expect Young and the Panthers to be playing from behind. If they are, Young won't have a choice but to throw the ball late. Though we're not confident in him throwing for over 188 yards (his passing yards total at many of our best sports betting apps), we are confident in him getting close to that number. And we don't expect Carr to go for much more than 200.
