Brooklyn Nets at Milwaukee Bucks 10/12/22 – NBA Picks & Predictions

The Brooklyn Nets look for their first win of the preseason when visiting the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. Brooklyn is 0-2 in the preseason with losses to the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat. In the loss to Miami, Kevin Durant was the leading scorer for Brooklyn with 22 points, while Cam Thomas scored 13. Ben Simmons scored four points and grabbed a team high 10 rebounds. Kyrie Irving, Seth Curry and Alondes Williams did not see any action in the matchup against the Heat.

The biggest question mark for Brooklyn starting the regular season this year will be how ready is Ben Simmons after missing all of last season. Brooklyn has three very talented NBA stars in Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Simmons but it is unknown how well Simmons will play after sitting out for so long. The expected starting five for Brooklyn this season will be Irving, Durant, Simmons, Nic Claxton and Joe Harris. With the top reserves off the bench being Seth Curry, Patty Mills and Cam Thomas.

The Milwaukee Bucks will complete a back to back on Wednesday when hosting Brooklyn after playing on the road Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls. Milwaukee is 0-3 during the preseason and was defeated by Atlanta 118-109 in its most recent outing last Friday. Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play in Milwaukee's loss to Atlanta, nor did Khris Middleton or Joe Ingles but expect the three on the court Wednesday versus Brooklyn.

Milwaukee will have much of the same look as last season with the exception of draft pick Marjon Beauchamp and free agent signee Joe Ingles. Milwaukee's success will be determined by the play of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. Those three will be joined by Brock Lopez and Grayson Allen to make up the expected starting five for Milwaukee. Pat Connaughton, Joe Ingles, George Hill and Bobby Portis will be the top reserves coming off the bench.
