The 2022 Major League Baseball season continues with even more action on Friday, Aug. 12 as the playoffs are right around the corner. One of today's more interesting games is a showdown between the Atlanta Braves (66-46) and Miami Marlins (50-61).
The Braves were close to taking the NL East lead last week, however, losing four contests in a five-game series against the New York Mets has put them seven games behind their divisional rivals. Nevertheless, Atlanta has since won back-to-back games and hopes to build on that tonight.
Meanwhile, wins have been hard t o come by for the Marlins lately. They've lost nine of their last 12 outings ahead of this contest and have even lost nine of their last 10 home games.
It'll be a battle between two solid starting pitchers as Jake Odorizzi gets the start for the Braves while Pablo Lopez takes to the mound for the Marlins.
