The Boston Red Sox head south to take on the Braves after taking two of three from the Phillies over the weekend and six of seven games overall. On Sunday afternoon, the Red Sox six-game winning streak came to an end in a 6-1 loss to the Phillies. Starter Tanner Houck gave up three runs on five hits in 5.2 innings. Unfortunately, he didn't get the run support from what had been a red-hot Red Sox offense. Boston managed just five hits and struck out nine times in the loss despite a solid performance from Houck.

“Overall, a good outing,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora said. “He limited the damage.”

The Red Sox will send Nick Pivetta to the mound in game one of this series against the Braves. Pivetta has just one quality start in six starts with a 2-2 record overall. His ERA sits at 4.99 and he has a K/9 ratio of 10.0 so far. On the road, Pivetta is 1-0 in two starts with a 2.53 ERA. He has thrown 10.2 innings and allowed 10 hits with a K/9 ratio of 11.0. Pivetta's hard-hit percentage has jumped up to 51.8% this season, which would be a career-high and well above the league average of 35%.

Key Injuries: Infielders Christian Arroyo and Yu Chang are both out.
