Daily NRFI Prop – July 26, 2022

7:05 p.m. ET

In this night game, Aaron Nola will get things rolling in the first inning against the Atlanta Braves. Nola has been the best 1st inning pitcher in baseball this season, holding a 18-1 (95%) NRFI record with a perfect 9-0 NRFI split at home.

He has seen the Braves in 2 starts this season, putting up a 2.93 ERA with a perfect 2-0 NRFI record. His fantastic season should continue t oday in this home matchup against a familiar squad of Atlanta.

Although a good hitting team, the Braves have been terrible all year in the 1st inning. They rank 18/30 in the league and have only scored in 12 of 44 (27%) away 1st innings season. As mentioned earlier, the Braves have struggled against Nola all season.

As a team, they are only batting .207 this season against him and have struck out 18 times in 15.1 innings. Being on the road and facing the best 1st inning pitcher in baseball, lock in Nola to shut down these Atlanta hitters for at least 3 outs and more.

After Nola recorded 3 outs, Spencer Strider will take us home to glory in Philadelphia. He’s has been fantastic this season, holding a 3.03 ERA with a 9-1 NRFI record. His first start resulted in a YRFI and since then, he’s has gone 9 straight NRFI’s in all of his past 9 starts.

Strider does not give up home runs and has the best K/9 in the league which is perfect for a scorel ess first inning. Lock in Strider to record 3 scoreless outs against a bottom-tier offense in the league.

The Braves will be facing the Phillies on their home ground. This season, the Phillies rank a horrid 26/30 in 1st inning runs per game and have only scored in 2 of their last 10 1st innings. In the last 2 weeks, they rank bottom 10 in .BA, OBP and SLG% in the league.

Strider saw the Phillies once this season, going 2 innings with 4 strikeouts and allowing no baserunners. Lock in Strider to shut down this already bad lineup for 3 outs.

As always, trust the numbers when looking for a scoreless first inning. (Twitter: @NRFIalgorithm)

Daily NRFI Prop – July 25, 2022

9:40 p.m. ET

Tyler Gilbert will get things rolling in the 1st inning against the Giants. Gilbert is an incredible 10-2 to the NRFI since last season and is currently 5-1 this year. Despite his 5.34 ERA, Gilbert has been extremely hot in his last 3 starts, holding an ERA of 2.51. After starting the year cold, Gilbert is 3-0 to the NRFI in his last 3 and will now be facing a bottom-tier offense in the league in this matchup.

Gilbert will have the opportunity to face the Giants in this home matchup. The Giants currently rank 26/30 in 1st inning runs per game this season and are 8-2 to the NRFI in their last 10 games. When looking at away games, the Giants have only scored in 10 of 47 1st innings (21%) so Gilbert should be able to lock in 3 scoreless outs in this matchup.

After Gilbert records 3 outs, Jake Junis will bring us home to glory. Junis is having an incredible season overall, holding a 3.06 ERA and a perfect 7-0 NRFI split. In 4 away starts this season, Junis has a 1.71 ERA, holding opponents to a .171 BA and is a perfect 3-0 to the NRFI. Junis’ numbers have been fantastic all season and he will now be facing a horrid offense in Arizon a.

Junis will be traveling to Arizona to face the Diamondbacks. As of day, they rank 22/30 in 1st inning runs per game. In terms of overall production, the D’Backs rank 20/30 in team runs and rank 28/30 in team batting average. They are listed on Draftkings at -280 to not score so lock in those numbers for the NRFI and trust Junis in this one.

As always, trust the numbers when looking for a scoreless first inning.
