Best NHL player prop bets for Friday, 3/3

There may just be 5 games on the board tonight, but there's no shortage of great action. That includes several skaters on new teams with a very active time in the NHL before the trade deadline. That includes one of the most notable with Timo Meier now on the New Jersey Devils. The Columbus Blue Jackets also have a new goaltender in Jonathan Quick and the Winnipeg Jets recently acquired Nino Niederreiter. All those teams are in action, so let's see where our favorite prop picks take us.

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Sebastian Aho over 0.5 assists (+130)

We're sticking with a skater who certainly won't be leaving at the trade deadline for our 1st play. The Carolina Hurricanes are surprisingly coming off back-to-back losses. However, the most recent was against the Vegas Golden Knights, who are the top dog in the Western Conference. Now Aho and the 'Canes get to face one of the worst out west in the Arizona Coyotes. They're coming off a loss in which they allowed 4 goals, and they allowed 6 goals in 2 of their 3 games prior to that one.'

Therefore, it's no surprise we're expecting Carolina to bounce back in a big way. These teams don't meet often, but there's still encouraging history with Aho. Each of the last 2 times Aho visited Arizona, he recorded at least a point and 4 in total. He's also tied for the team lead with 52 points through 51 games. While he can find the back of the net himself, he also skates alongside Andrei Svechnikov, who leads the team in shots. In fact, Aho is 4th in that regard. Even if he does notch a goal himself, we'd still expect him to record an assist along with it given the Coyotes poor defense.'''
