The NBA is back from the All-Star break – and Ja Morant continues to talk smack about the Western Conference. But will he back it up against the Philadelphia 76ers? Jon Metler shares three of his favorite NBA same-game parlays for Thursday's games using the latest NBA odds.
The wait is officially over, and we're back with a massive slate of games on Thursday. It has been a LONG seven days since we last had the opportunity to wager on some NBA same game parlays.
It has been all the talk about whether or not the Los Angeles Lakers will still be able to make the playoffs. Well, they better come out hot out of the All-Star break since they need to defeat the Golden State Warriors.
Lucky for us, we don't need a win from the Lakers but only 25-plus points from LeBron James.

NBA SGP predictions: Pacers vs. Celtics
Tatum dropped 55 points in the NBA All-Star game en route to the MVP award, so his confidence is sky-high at the moment. We can price this prop at -320 since Tatum is projected to score 31.3 points against the Pacers. Tatum only has a small edge here, but this is common among star-caliber players.
This probably won't be the only bet I place on Hield on Thursday; I'll likely make a straight bet as well. Follow me on Twitter to learn more about that. Since Hield is projected to score 17.2 points against the Celtics, the alternate total of 10-plus points should trade at -830 instead of -800.
This is the main event of this parlay and the main reason I chose to create a same game parlay on the Pacers-Celtics game. The Over on Mathurin's total is currently trading at 14.5 (-118) at FanDuel, yet we can get 15-plus points at -110, so I immediately love this error. If that's not convincing enough for you, Mathurin is projected to score 16.9 points, allowing us to price this prop at -170.
NBA SGP predictions: Grizzles vs. 76ers
Morant claims to be the best player in the West, and he'll have a great opportunity to prove it on Thursday against the 76ers. We can price the alternate total of 25+ points at -210 based on Morant's projected 28.6 points against the 76ers, so you have a nice edge here.
While it was difficult to choose between Bane for 15-plus points and Jaren Jackson Jr. for 10-plus points, I opted for Ban e. There's some value in Jackson's odds, but you always run the risk of having Embiid put him in foul trouble. Bane is projected to score 21.7 points on Thursday, which is just over his total of 20.5 points at FanDuel.
There will be a crowd that decides to fade Embiid against the Grizzles because he will face the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year in Jackson. I don't fall into this camp because Embiid is a never-back-down type of player and he will look to meet Jackson head on. I have this prop priced at -865 based on Embiid's projections, so you're receiving fair odds on this leg of the parlay.
NBA SGP predictions: Warriors vs. Lakers
There was a choice between Thompson and Poole for 20-plus points, and I decided to go with Thompson. It's projected that both will exceed their respective points totals, however, we have seen Poole at times be passive and just create offense for others in the absence of Stephen Curry. At least by backing Thompson, you know he will shoot the ball a lot without Curry. I have Thompson scoring 20 or more points priced at -430.
If James doesn't want to miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season, he better be ready to play right away. This is a critical game for the Lakers' playoff hopes. The total for James at FanDuel is 27.5, and I expect this to move as we approach tip-off. James is projected to score 30.3 points, which means that this prop can be priced at -285.
Russell recorded his highest point total (21) since joining the Lakers in the one game he played with James before the All-Star break. As James can collapse the defense and kick out to Russell, who likes to camp out on the three-point line, this is not surprising. This is also a low-key revenge spot for Russell against the Warriors, and I h ave this prop priced at -1210.
