Baylor vs Oklahoma Prediction and Best Bet

The Baylor-Oklahoma rivalry has been anything but close over the years. In 31 all-time matchups, the Sooners have walked out victorious on 27 occasions. In fact, Oklahoma was on a seven-game winning streak against Baylor before the latter won last year's meeting, 27-14.

On paper, both teams have been fairly comparable on offense this season. Both sides have top-30 rushing attacks while Baylor averages only 9.4 more passing yards per game than Oklahoma. Having said that, the Bears have the edge on defense, giving up 351.3 total yards per game (No. 31) compared to Oklahoma's abysmal clip (438.0, No. 104).

Furthermore, the Sooners have given up at least 41 points in four of their last five outings. While the Bears' defense hasn' t been perfect, they've limited opponents to 40 combined points over the last two weeks combined, which includes holding Kansas to 23 – the same Jayhawks team that scored 42 against Oklahoma just one week before that.

While Oklahoma has home-field advantage, the Sooners have shown too many issues to be consistently trusted. Baylor has the edge here due to a superior defense, so give me the Bears at +3 on the spread. After all, they are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 outings against Oklahoma.

I also recommend taking the total going over 61.5 points. Again, Oklahoma has given up 40 points per game over its last five while Baylor has put up 80 points over its last two. Both teams have been involved in their fair share of shoo touts this fall, solidifying the over as a great option.
