The Austin Peay Governors will make the four-hour trip to Knoxville and face the Tennessee Volunteers in non-conference action this Wednesday from the T-B Arena on the SEC Network. This will mark the tenth time these in-state foes face off, and Tennessee holds the all-time series lead, 8-1.
Austin Peay dropped to 6-6 after a road loss to Murray State. defeating Tennessee State at home. The Governors blew a small halftime lead, and let the Racers speed away with an eight-point victory. Austin Peay is scoring 70.6 ppg, while allowing 67.7 ppg, and shooting 42.6% from the field.
APU has played through the absence of leading scorer Shon Robinson, and they’ve leaned on-to second-year center Elijah Hutchins-Everett, who now leads the team in scoring (13.8) and rebounding (7.2). Mizzou transfer Sean Durugordon scored a game-high 24 points in the win over TSU, and he’s averaging 12.1 ppg and 5.3 rpg.
