Army vs. Troy Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-12-2022

The Troy Trojans play host to the Army Black Knights in a crucial non-conference showdown for both sides from Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Trojans are off to a great start this season and with six wins in a row, there might not be a hotter team in the Group of 5. For Army, they've fallen back after some successful years and are in desperate need of wins toward bowl eligibility. These two have never met before, so it could be interesting early against two teams with little familiarity with each other.

The Black Knights have struggled this season so far and a trip to troy isn't likely to be what turns things around for this group. Army had won two in a row until their untimely loss at home last week to Air Force, though with only three wins on the season, they know that they have a slim margin of error if they want to find themselves playing in a bowl game at season's end. The Black Knights are winless on the road this season and considering the talent on the other sideline in this one, it could be a struggle.

Army only has one injury to worry about as they head into the weekend, which is good news for a team that battled injuries for much of the beginning of the season. Tyrell Robinson (undisclosed) is questionable for Saturday, though as the team's second-leading running back, could be missed.

There's no doubt that Army will be focused on running the ball in this one, as they bring the nation's second-best ground game into Saturday. The passing game is nearly non-existent, though it hasn't seemed to impact their scoring, where they find themselves right in the middle nationally. Tyheir Tyler will get the majority of snaps at quarterback but with the Black Knights continuing to juggle players there, the struggles seem inevitable.
