Arizona Sports Betting Takes Significant Dip In June

Arizona sports betting turned in an underwhelming month with sports scheduled slogging through June.

Arizona sportsbooks reported $319 million in June wagers, according to an Arizona Department of Gaming release Tuesday. Similar to much of the rest of the year, Arizona sports betting handle stayed sixth among US sports betting markets.

While it stayed in a similar national position, it was a 31% drop from its May handle. The national trend was approximately an 18% month-over-month dip.

“Despite June being a historically slower month for sports betting, Arizona figures were strong nationally,” ADG Director Ted Vogt said in the release. “Arizona operators contributed over $750,000 in privilege fees during June, resulting in nearly $17 million in privilege fees since the start of legal operations in September 2021.”
