Anaheim Ducks vs. Dallas Stars Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-1-2022

A three-game losing streak takes the Anaheim Ducks (8th in Pacific Division) to a road contest against the Dallas Stars (1st in Central), who are about to kick off a five-game homestand on the back of a victory in St. Louis.

The current losing skid of the Anaheim Ducks (6-15-2) expanded to three outings (0-2-1) after the team embarked on its newest four-game road trip with a 2-1 overtime victory against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday. The Ducks, who did not have any power plays, were outshot 41-35, but killed both of their penalties, blocked 20 attempts and conceded just one regulation snipe in the second period, eventually tying the game midway through the third frame, only for the Preds to bank the win at 3:50 of the extra session. Troy Terry (10 goals, 24 points this year) picked up the only marker for Anaheim, which is riding a four-game losing streak on the road (0-3-1).

Goalie John Gibson stopped 39 shots on Tuesday and has now gone 4-12-2 for the season with a 3.99 GAA and a .894 save percentage. He has registered a 4-7- 1 past tally versus Dallas with a 2.81 GAA and a .914 save percentage, while Anthony Stolarz (2-3-0 on the year with a 3.75 GAA and a .890 save percentage) has given up two goals on 10 shots in previous 20 minutes played against the Stars (.800 save percentage). The Ducks are 2nd in least goals scored per game in 2022-23 (2.48), top of the league in most goals allowed on average (4.13), 3rd from the bottom in power play (15.2%; 10-for-66) and bottom of the league in penalty kill (66.3%; 55-for-83).
