2023 Georgia Bulldogs win total betting strategy: Kirby Smart aiming for third straight championship

Three-peats are pretty rare. We're talking about only the most mistoric of teams, from various iterations of the great New York Yankees, Bill Russell's Boston Celtics, Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers, the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and New York Islanders, not to mention John Wooden's UCLA Bruins of yore. College football, however, has proven mostly foreign territory for three-peats. One has to go back nearly 90 years, to pre-World War II times and Bernie Bierman's Minnesota Gol den Gophers to find the last three-peater on the college gridiron in the 30s. Bear Bryant's Alabama couldn't do it; neither could Nick Saban's Bama when it last had a shot at such in 2013. Tom Osborne and Barry Switzer couldn't do it either. Legends like Ara Parseghian, John McKay, and Darrell Royal never got more than one title in a row.
