China and Denmark are both looking for a positive start Saturday when they face off in an important group-stage opener at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. Denmark are 15th in FIFA's world ranking, one spot ahead of China. They are in Group D, along with eighth-ranked England and No. 61 Haiti. The Danes are back in the FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time since 2007. The Chinese have reached the knockout round in every Women's World Cup except 2011, when they fail ed to qualify.
