The Mountain West Conference is made up of two divisions, the Mountain and the West. Each division has 6 teams to make up a 12 team conference based in the western half of the United States.
Last season, San Diego State and Utah State played in the Mountain West Championship. Utah State won in blowout fashion by a score of 46-13. It was their first conference title since the conference played their first title game in 2013.
This year, Boise State and Fresno State are the division favorites. There has not been a repeat winner of the title since 2015 and 2016 when San Diego State c ompleted the feat.
