Across the ballparks, the Cubs picked up their 6th straight win, beating the Pirates 4-2, the Blue Jays hammered the Cardinals 10-3, the Red Sox slipped to .500 and last place in the AL East with an 8-3 loss to the Guardians and the Mets beat the Yankees 6-3 in the Subway Series. The big upsets came as the A’s beat the Astros 5-3 and the Nationals overcame the Dodgers for the second straight game, winning 8-3.
