The Washington State Cougars (17-6, 11-12-0 ATS) defeated the Oregon State Beavers on Thursday, 64-58, for their fourth straight victory. Washington State is now 8-4 in the conference and 4-3 on the road (3-4-0 ATS). This is a powerhouse team, ranked 42nd according to KenPom and 46th in the Bart Torvik rankings. The Cougars are 50th in points per 100 possessions (114.3) and 43rd in points allowed per 100 possessions (98.5).

Washington State used a smothering defense to take a one-point lead into the half, 27-26. Or egon State took just 25 shots in the first half and finished at 44.9% shooting for the game, including 3-12 from three-point range. The Cougars have been incredible defensively, 50th in opponent field-goal percentage (41.0%) and they are 32nd in opponent three-point attempts per game (18.3). One stat to watch is that the Cougars are 347th in opponent free-throw percentage (75.4%), allowing 19.3 free throws per game.

Jaylen Wells led the way for the Cougars, recording 24 points off 9-15 shooting. Wells has been averaging just 11.0 points per game with Isaac Jones the team leader at 15.7 PPG.
