UMBC at Maryland – 12/29/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The UMBC Retrievers and Maryland Terrapins face off on Thursday in a college basketball showdown at the Xfinity Center College Park. When these two teams faced off in 2017 it was Maryland that secured the 66-45 victory. 

UMBC comes into this game with a 9-4 record overall and they have gone 7-5 against the spread. In the last game against William & Mary the offense scored 78 points and they won by 16 points. In the last game against Saint Peter’s the defense gave up only 45 points, and that led to the 30 point victory. Guard Hakim Hurt had a big game finishing with 18 points and two rebounds. Maryland is averaging 74.4 points while their defense is giving up 61.7 points per game. The defense is ranked 35th in college basketball. Jahmir Young is averaging 14.4 points while shooting 41.4 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from behind the three point line.
