Texas Tech vs. Baylor Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-4-2023

The Texas Tech Red Raiders and Baylor Bears are suiting up for a battle on the hardwood Saturday at the Ferrell Center. Tip-off from Waco, TX, is at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Texas Tech, 12-10 SU and 8-13-1 ATS, defeated Iowa State 80-77 in overtime on Monday. The Red Raiders have won consecutive games after losing eight straight prior. They're 1-8 in Big 12 competition.

Baylor, 16-6 SU and 10-11-1 ATS, lost 76-71 at Texas on Monday. The Bears are 4-1 in their past five and 5-4 in Big 12 play.

Baylor defeated Texas Tech 81-73 on Jan. 17. The Red Raiders are 80-61 versus the Bears since 1949-50.

Texas Tech has momentum for the first time since conference play tipped off following consecutive wins over LSU and Iowa State. It was a long time coming for a team that's better than its record.

The Red Raiders pulled off a miraculous comeback against the Cyclones after falling behind by 23 points. TTU was a slight underdog ATS but found itself in a deep hole early on and trailed by 17 at halftime. It took 49 second-half points, but the Red Raiders managed to come all the way back to knock off 13th-ranked Iowa State.

Texas Tech scores 74.8 points per game (113th) on 46.3 percent shooting (74th), including 34.2 percent from behind the arc (185th). It converts 70.1 percent of its free-throw attempts (226th) and averages 32.5 rebounds (152nd) with a +2.9 rebounding margin. The Red Raiders are 72nd in schedule-adjusted offensive efficiency, per KenPom.

Senior forward Kevin Obanor leads Texas Tech, averaging 15.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Other Red Raiders to watch are senior guard De'Vion Harmon (12.5 PPG and 3.7 APG), freshman guard Pop Isaacs (11.6 PPG), sophomore guard Jaylon Tyson (9.5 PPG and 5.9 RPG), and sophomore forward Daniel Batcho (8.7 PPG and 6.4 RPG).
