Saturday Night Live Takes A Swipe At Sports Betting Ads

This week's edition of Saturday Night Live, as always, touched on numerous moments in the zeitgeist, from Donald Trump's new line of sneakers to all the hubbub surrounding the week's guest host, comedian Shane Gillis.

And days before Problem Gambling Awareness Month kicks off, they took on sports betting in a faux commercial for “Rock Bottom Kings.”

Clearly a swipe at market leader DraftKings – as well as the nature of many sports betting commercials – the fake ad explored a sports betting app that would allow you to wager on how “your degenerate gambler friend is finally going to hit rock bottom.”

The two-minute spot starts by looking and sounding like so many other sports betting commercials before it: black background, bright lights, the thrill of victory.
